Wildcats Beat Expectations -- Again!

All expectations where that Franklin would lose or squeak by a win. Reporters for the Appeal Democrat predicted a Franklin loss of up to a touch down while E.G. Citizen predicted a win of about 3 points. Outcome was far different with a 56 - 30 win over Yuba City.

Things sputtered for the Cats in the first quarter when YC scored almost immediately, but by the half Franklin had the lead and never looked back.

The Frosh/Soph game witnessed the tenacious Franklin offense answering each YC score with a touch down of their own. The Cats withstood a last ditch Honker rally to finish the game with a 28 - 20 win.

A week earlier the Honkers shutout Cosumnes Oaks varsity 20-0 at Cosumnes Oaks/Franklin Community Stadium, and hopes for a repeat were dashed as the Wildcats took the field back.

Two weeks ago Franklin Wildcats where not even ranked in the top 25 in the section by Maxpreps. Today Franklin is ranked 13 out of 152 schools just ahead of Monterey Trail HS.

Wildcats Defeat Sheldon Huskies

Both the Varsity and the Frosh/Soph showed their Wildcat spirit by handily defeating the Huskies on Saturday night: 22-21 and 58-0 respectively. Both teams have taken a strong step forward in what looks to be a highly successful season. Great job guys!
